What is a LinkedIn-first Approach and Why is it Important?

The number one mistake I see brands make on LinkedIn is not having a LinkedIn-first approach.

What exactly is the "LinkedIn-first approach," and why is that so important?

Having a LinkedIn-first approach means creating content specifically for LinkedIn with your LinkedIn audience in mind. This is critical to achieving success on the channel. Reposting assets that were developed for a different medium won't perform well on LinkedIn.

Here are some key items to consider:

1. Size and specs of content specifically for LinkedIn

2. Which content format to use to best share the story (photo, multi-photo, video, document, newsletter, etc.)

3. Instead of sharing an infographic - utilize the ‘document’ feature to share as a carousel for seamless reading

4. Understanding that when the audience is on LinkedIn, they are consuming content quickly

5. Continue to share different versions of a story to build engagement and interest
