How Personal Should You Get On LinkedIn?

I recently led a live LinkedIn workshop on personal branding for a Fortune 200 company.  During our Q&A session, the recurring theme emerged: authenticity and knowing just how personal to be when sharing content on the platform.

Here is the information form the presentation slide of the steadfast rules I follow >>

  1. Identify your personal narrative that differentiates you from others.

  2. Share data over drama.

  3. Identify what’s ego and what’s real.

  4. Embrace diverse perspectives.

  5. If you don’t want your boss or colleagues to see a post, you might want to refrain from posting it at all.

  6. Above all, trust yourself in what you’re sharing, you know your audience the best!
